Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance® (TJQMBB) is an evidence-based fall prevention program designed for older adults. TJQMBB represents a substantive enhancement of traditional Tai Ji Quan as it transforms martial arts movements into a therapeutic regimen aimed at improving postural stability, awareness and mindful control of body positioning, functional walking, movement symmetry and coordination, range of motion around the ankle and hip joints and lower – extremity muscle strength.

All classes are offered online, via Zoom, at no cost to residents of Minnesota through a partnership with Innovations for Aging. Instruction includes an introduction to Zoom tools and online course etiquette. Participants will need a computer or tablet with a working camera and microphone. Hybrid courses are available for small groups in senior living facilities or community centers.
Dr. Tomette has earned a PhD in Health Promotion and has many years of experience teaching Health Education and Public Health classes at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels of academia, as well as in various community settings to students with diverse demographics.
